The buttons go grey when a trade can't be opened right now. The screen usually tells you why. Here are the common causes, most likely first.
- The expiry is about to close. On fixed-time expiries (15 minutes and longer), no new trades can be opened in the last 2 minutes, and open trades can't be closed early. The expiry shows as Closed in the expiry list. Choose the next one. See Expiry times.
- The market is closed. Currency pairs, gold and silver close at weekends, between trading days and early on some holidays, and currency pairs take no new trades from 20:45 to 21:00 UTC. The screen says Trading Currently Closed with a countdown to reopening. Crypto and synthetic indices are open 24/7, apart from weekly maintenance. See Trading hours.
- This asset doesn't offer this trade type. TOUCH is only available on seven currency pairs and three synthetic indices, and SPREAD isn't available on gold and silver. The screen says the asset isn't available for that type. Choose another asset or trade type. See Assets you can trade.
- The amount isn't allowed. Check it's between ¥500 and ¥100,000 and no more than your balance.
- Your session has expired. If you see Session Expired, log in again from your client area.
If none of these apply, refresh the page. If the buttons are still grey, contact support and tell us the asset, the expiry and the time.
