Short expiries on currency pairs close earlier
Short expiries (15 seconds to 5 minutes) are only available on seven currency pairs: EUR/USD, USD/JPY, EUR/JPY, GBP/JPY, AUD/USD, AUD/JPY and NZD/JPY. They're open from 23:00 to 20:00, an hour before the other expiries close. Outside those hours they show as closed on the trading screen.
Good to know
- Last 15 minutes of the day: from 20:45 to 21:00, you can't open new trades on currency pairs. Trades you already have stay open and settle as normal.
- Trade types: the hours are the same for HIGH/LOW, TOUCH and SPREAD.
- Weekly maintenance: Sunday 21:00 to 22:00. Crypto and synthetic indices pause then too. See When is scheduled maintenance?
- Holidays: on some public holidays, assets close early or don't open. We email you beforehand and show a notice on the platform. See Holiday trading hours.
- Market conditions: in extreme market conditions, an asset may be limited or unavailable. If an asset doesn't appear, refresh the page.
