How does SPREAD work?

In a SPREAD trade you win if the price finishes beyond your chosen line when the trade expires: above the upper line if you bought ABOVE, or below the lower line if you bought BELOW. Because the price has to move past a line, not just away from your entry price, SPREAD pays more than HIGH/LOW.

How it works

When you choose SPREAD, two lines appear on the chart, one above the current price and one below it.

  1. Choose an asset and an expiry time.
  2. Enter your amount and check the payout.
  3. Tap ABOVE if you think the price will finish above the upper line, or BELOW if you think it will finish below the lower line.
  • If the price finishes beyond your line at expiry, you receive the payout.
  • If it finishes anywhere else, the trade loses: between the lines, exactly on your line, or beyond the other line.

Example: you buy ABOVE on USD/JPY with a 1-minute expiry at a 220% payout, staking ¥1,000. If the price is above the upper line after 1 minute, you receive ¥2,200.

Where the lines are

How far the lines sit from the price reflects how volatile the market is. When the market is more volatile, the lines are generally further away. The lines you see on the chart when you buy are the lines your trade uses.

Expiry times, payouts and assets

  • Expiry times: from 30 seconds to 24 hours. The times on offer depend on the asset. See Expiry times.
  • Payouts: up to 500%. The payout depends on the asset and expiry, is shown before you buy, and is fixed once you enter.
  • Assets: every asset you can trade with HIGH/LOW except gold and silver: currency pairs, cryptocurrencies and synthetic indices.
  • Closing early: on SPREAD trades of 15 minutes or longer, you can close early for a partial payout until 2 minutes before expiry.

You can try SPREAD on the demo account or the no-sign-up quick demo.
