Can someone else deposit or withdraw for me?

No. Every payment into or out of your Zentrader account has to be in your own name. You deposit from your own bank account, card or wallet, and withdrawals are paid only to a bank account or wallet in your own name. That applies to family members, friends and anyone else, however well you know them.

Why we insist on it

  • It's the law. Anti-money-laundering rules require us to know whose money we're handling, and our banking and payment partners require the same of us. Matching every payment to a verified account holder is how we meet those obligations.
  • It protects you. Because money can only come back to the person it came from, nobody else can withdraw your balance, and you're never caught up in a dispute over whose money it was.
  • It keeps payments fast. A payment that matches your name goes through automatically. One that doesn't has to be looked into, and is often sent back.

What happens with a payment in someone else's name

If a deposit arrives from an account or card in another name, we may hold it while we check, return it to where it came from, or, if it was done deliberately, close the account. A withdrawal request to someone else's account is rejected. Where a payment needs a closer look, we may ask you for documents, for example a bank statement showing that the account is yours, and a withdrawal shows as On Hold until we have them.

Family members

Family members who want to trade open their own accounts, each with their own identity check and their own card or bank account. See Can I open more than one account?

If your name doesn't match exactly

If the name on your bank account or card is different from the one on your Zentrader account, for example after a change of name, contact us through the chat before you deposit so that we can update your details first. See How to change your personal details.
