You can deposit with a credit card from your client area, and the money is in your account immediately.
Before you start: the card must be in your own name. A family member's card, or anyone else's, can't be used. Card deposits are for trading only, not for immediate withdrawal: using a card deposit to turn credit into cash (credit card cashing) is prohibited, and if we see it we may refund the deposit to the card and close the account. See Deposit and withdrawal rules.
- Go to my.zentrader.com, log in and choose Deposit Funds, then Credit Card. Visa, Mastercard and JCB are usually accepted; the option shows which brands are available right now.
- Enter the amount. The minimum is ¥5,000 ($50), or the equivalent in your account's base currency. The limits for your account are shown on the deposit page.
- Enter your card details: the name on the card, the card number, the expiry date and the security code (CVV).
- Complete your card issuer's security check if it appears. This is 3D Secure: usually a one-time code sent by your card issuer's app or by SMS. See What are CVV and 3D Secure?
- That's it. The deposit is credited immediately and appears in your Transaction History.
Good to know
- Some cards are billed in US dollars. The deposit page tells you when this applies. We credit your account with the exact amount you entered, but the charge goes through your card in dollars. If your card isn't a US dollar card, your card company converts it at its own exchange rate, usually with a mark-up or a foreign transaction fee, so the yen amount on your statement can be a little higher than your deposit: a ¥5,000 deposit might appear as ¥5,250, for example. That difference is charged by your card company, not by Zentrader.
- Monthly limit reached? If the Credit Card option says so, it also shows the date it becomes available again. Until then, use Turbo Deposit or crypto.
- Declined? We only accept cards with 3D Secure, so check with your card issuer that your card is registered for it. Most other declines are the card issuer's too: overseas or online payments blocked, or a limit reached. Try a different card, ideally a different brand, or another deposit method.
- On your statement the charge appears under a payment provider's name rather than Zentrader. See What will appear on my card statement?
- Withdrawing later: part or all of a withdrawal may be returned to the card you deposited with. See Can I withdraw to my card?
