Trade types compared: HIGH/LOW, TOUCH and SPREAD

Zentrader has three ways to trade. In each one you choose a direction, pick an expiry time and set your amount. The payout is shown before you buy and is fixed once you enter.

HIGH/LOW

Decide whether the price will finish higher or lower than where you entered. If you choose HIGH and the price ends above your entry price, you win. If it ends exactly at your entry price, the trade loses.

Example: you buy HIGH on USD/JPY with a 15-second expiry at a 200% payout, staking ¥1,000. If the price is above your entry price after 15 seconds, you receive ¥2,000.

TOUCH

Two lines appear on the chart, one above the current price and one below. Choose the line you think the price will reach. If the price touches your line at any point before expiry, the trade closes straight away and pays out. If it never touches the line, the trade loses at expiry.

TOUCH is available on EUR/USD, USD/JPY, EUR/JPY, GBP/JPY, AUD/USD, AUD/JPY and NZD/JPY during the week, and on the synthetic indices VOLX 10, JUMP 10 and STEP 100 at any time.

SPREAD

Two lines appear on the chart, one above the price and one below. Choose one. To win, the price must finish beyond your line at expiry: above the upper line if you bought ABOVE, or below the lower line if you bought BELOW. If it finishes anywhere else, including exactly on your line, the trade loses.

Good to know

  • The lines move with the market. How far the lines sit from the price reflects how volatile the market is. When the market is more volatile, they are generally further away.
  • Your trade starts where you see the line. The line shown on the chart when you buy is the line your trade uses.
  • Payouts are fixed when you enter. The payout on offer can change with market conditions, but once you've opened a trade, it settles at the payout you entered at.
  • Trade amounts are ¥500 to ¥100,000 per trade ($5 to $1,000, or the equivalent in your account's base currency).
  • Try it first. All three trade types are available on the demo account and the no-sign-up quick demo.
