The demo account is free, runs on the same platform as live trading and uses the same prices, with virtual funds in place of real money. There are two ways to use it: the quick demo on our main website, zentrader.com, which needs no sign-up, and the demo that comes with your Zentrader account.
The quick demo: no sign-up needed
Go to zentrader.com and choose Quick demo in the header. The trading platform opens in your browser straight away, loaded with virtual funds, with nothing to enter. The quick demo is a temporary account for having a look around: it isn't saved, so when you come back you'll start a fresh one. When you're ready for a demo that keeps your history, or to trade for real, open an account. See How to open an account.
The demo that comes with your account
As soon as you confirm your email address, a demo account is created for you alongside your live account. You'll find it on the client-area dashboard, in the demo panel, with a button that opens the demo platform.
It starts with ¥50,000,000 of virtual funds plus a ¥10,000 demo cashback bonus, so you can see how a cashback bonus sits alongside your funds before you ever receive a real one. On a dollar account the figures are $10,000 and $50. The platform shows a DEMO badge and your demo balance while you're practising, so there's no confusing it with real trading, and the account menu has an option to switch to your real account whenever you like.
Demo trades don't count towards the welcome cashback bonus, which needs 20 live trades. See Welcome cashback bonus for new accounts.
How the demo differs from live trading
Everything you see is the same: the assets, the expiry times, the payouts and the price feed. The one difference is that the money isn't real, so wins and losses have no effect on your balance. Very occasionally a price may differ by a tick from the live platform, because the live account refreshes prices more often.
If you've used up your virtual funds or want to start again from the opening balance, we can reset it for you. See How to reset your demo balance.
