Usually only a few minutes. The check is automatic: once your ID photos, selfie and SMS code go through, your account is activated straight away and you can deposit and trade. Most people are done within a few minutes of starting.
When it takes longer
If the name, date of birth or address you entered in Personal Information don't match your ID exactly, or if a photo is unclear, the check isn't rejected outright. It goes to a manual review by our team instead, and we'll email you as soon as it's done. You don't need to do anything in the meantime, and please don't register a second account while you wait: each person may hold one account, and a second application is rejected automatically.
If you realise you entered the wrong name or date of birth, contact us and we'll correct it, since those details lock after you save them. Correcting them early is the quickest way to get the review through.
Can I trade while I wait?
Not with real funds: deposits and trading unlock the moment the check passes. The demo account is available straight away, though, with ¥50,000,000 of virtual funds and the same prices as a live account, so you can practise while you wait. See How to use the demo account.
